Do not be afraid!!!

Hello again. So, I have been thinking on the subject of fear and this phrase comes to mind more often than not. “Do not be afraid“… what does this really mean? Well let’s dive deep and find out. I am sure it is something you have seen before and probably heard a lot of times, but do you really understand the true meaning behind this phrase?

This phrase seen constantly, but not always understood is found 365 times in the King James version of the Bible. If it is that much, it means it is significant right? Let’s find out how and why.

In our everyday living, there is always so much to think and worry about. It is usually very overwhelming and can cause anxiety in a person, but for each of those days, Gods word says: Fear not. It is not some advice, a suggestion, an opinion and definitely not even an appeal. It is a command, from the most-high God to humanity and all those who seek His face. It is a call for trust and confidence in Him and in His abilities. Worry is very much synonymous to fear. Worry arouses fear. “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? (Matthew6:27)” It won’t so, stop worrying. It is all well in Yahwehs hands. So, for everyday you live and wake up, God is telling you not to fear and not to worry. He certainly knows that there will be many things that may cause fear to rise in your hearts, but even when those things stare you in the face and they are the things that fill your environment, all He is asking you to do is to trust Him and only him and fill your heart with Him and His word.

Fear is often instilled and caused by different things. Most people fear darkness and its rulers, but we have no reason to fear them. For all power in heaven and on earth has been given unto Jesus Christ our Saviour who has sent us into the world and is with us every step of the way. And scripture says, we are his siblings (Hebrews2:11). What he has, we can have. So, in reality what you fear, you already have power over. Just exercise it. For some like me who have the fear of failing or making mistakes, the solution we seek is in the understanding and revelation of God’s word.

“The servant given one thousand said, ‘Master, I know you have high standards and hate careless ways, that you demand the best and make no allowances for error. I was afraid I might disappoint you, so I found a good hiding place and secured your money. Here it is, safe and sound down to the last cent.’ ” And what was the response…”The master was furious. ‘That’s a terrible way to live! It’s criminal to live cautiously like that! If you knew I was after the best, why did you do less than the least? The least you could have done would have been to invest the sum with the bankers, where at least I would have gotten a little interest.” So, the main source of fear in our world today, stems from our inadequate knowledge, and understanding of who our father and master is. We usually take him as someone who is harsh and strict, but He isn’t. He loves us so much. He understands all our faults and makes room for us, even in our weaknesses. He doesn’t condemn us because of those weaknesses but empowers us to overcome them and makes us stonger. That is why He can even give anything to us in the first place. The only thing that should inform or fuel your knowledge of God is His word, and those who walk in the light of his word.

When we fear, we diminish the power and authority that God has in our lives, and we make room for the devil to come in. We cause Him to become small compared to the problem, and that is not how He wants to be to you. It is downgrading. When you live your life constantly fearing what is and what may be, you can’t truly please God and do His will. Let us learn, to be careless in the care of the Lord. In reality, fear is a sin to God, and you are just as bad as a person who kills if you fear anything- situation, man or dark powers. Because when you fear, you doubt the authority and ability of God. Infact, in Revelation 21:8 among the list of people who do not have a place with God, the first set of people mentioned there is cowards. It is easy to rationalize and justify fear and call it worry or anxiety and most times, overthinking, but God says clearly here, that He doesn’t want it or anyone having anything to do with it. You become a coward and faithless person, when you let the fear you feel overcome your faith. It is truly a dangerous way to live, because as fear begins to set in, so does disobedience. God has given us every possible proof and assurance that we need. Hold on to it, never letting go.

I once heard from someone that the word fear is an acronym, and it means: False Evidence Appearing Real. The world and its rulers simply present you with situations, opinions and suggestions that are contrary to the truth of God’s word, and we are faced with the decision to either take it and neglect Gods truth (Fear) or leave it and take Gods truth and His word (Faith). And it is so well structured and organized by the enemy to make us believe it and everything it presents. It is what the enemy uses as a blind fold, to the works and deeds of the lord that are going on. So dear one, when you feel fear rising, know that the enemy is trying to keep you from seeing or doing what God is trying to show you. And in this circumstance, the best things to do, is to empower and reinforce yourself with the word of God so the devil can’t penetrate your heart with fear. You can’t fear anything other than God and have faith in God. They are both extremes. Keep fear out at all costs.

So, note and notice, that fear is not from and of God. The only capital, insurance and assurance you need in life, you have in God’s word. Therefore, mine the word for yours. I would finally like to draw our attention to a verse in scripture which says: “And he also says, “My righteous ones will live from faith in me. But if fear holds them back, my soul is not content with them!!!” (Hebrews10: 38 TPT)” Is fear holing you back…? Let it go and embrace Him. Work with your faith, cultivate and grow it. Fear is the storm, that will bring a man down from within. It is the raging water that overturns a man’s life and brings about many casualties and destructions. KEEP IT OUT AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Finally my dearly beloved, my take on this matter is this: in the world today, there are different things, situations and people to be afraid of, but we won’t be… Why…? Because we are seated together with Christ in heavenly places far above ALL things and our Father the Almighty One hasn’t given us the Spirit of bondage to fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind. You are no longer a slave to fear, you are Abbas child. Walk in the knowledge and revelation of that truth, arming yourself with Gods word and living in obedience to it. Your fear is your hindrance, and your faith is your breakthrough. Do not be afraid for I am with you!!!

Your beloved partner in growth… xoxo P
